The novel is set in the ancient town of Taoyang in Southeast China, a mountain village, a forested area and an iron ore mine. The "six points of red" are six kinds of "red" countryside scenery, anthropomorphized as six women. Through the emotional entanglements between these six women and six men, the hot love and savage sex in the countryside are written.
